A time to hear about change...
Since 1973, Harbor House has been a leader in providing a continuum of high quality, affordable and effective community-based addiction treatment services for adult men and women and their families. We are licensed by the State Department of Mental Health to operate multiple programs, currently with a total of 89 beds.
Our programs and services are designed around Twelve Step addiction recovery fellowships such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and take place in a highly structured residential environment. The daily regimen focuses on the unique physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of each client to arrest the disease of addiction and restore healthy behavior. The goal is to rehabilitate each individual so that they are able to return to the community as sober and productive members. We treat each client with dignity and respect and believe that clients need to participate actively in their treatment and rehabilitation, and we provide a supportive and nurturing environment in which to do so.
Daily activities for the Primary program (30 to 90 days, depending) include participating in individual and group counseling and attending psychoeducation classes on addiction and recovery. Clients are also expected to frequent 12-Step meetings and practice sober living and socialization skills. As clients advance from Primary Residential to Transitional Residential treatment, the program begins to introduce life skills, such as budgeting and time management. Clients in the Transitional phase are required to obtain employment within the first 30 days of admission into that program.
