Substance dependence and abuse takes a terrible toll on individuals, families, communities and society as a whole. This disease does not discriminate. It is found in all neighborhoods and among individuals of all ages, gender, ethnicity, income and education levels and religion.

According to the latest National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.8 percent of the population with past year substance dependence or abuse required treatment. This amounts to almost 60,000 individuals in our primary service area; only a small percentage of these individuals receive the care that they need.

Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services plays a vital role in providing a continuum of high quality, affordable and effective addiction treatment services and programs for the residents of Mississippi. Founded in 1973 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, Harbor House has provided care to more than 10,000 individuals.

We need your financial support to continue to fulfill our mission. The majority of our funding is derived from governmental sources and the client population that we serve is unable to pay for care. Your gift will ensure that we continue to play a leadership role as the premier provider of community-based addiction treatment.
