Harbor House
About Harbor House

In response to a dire need for affordable and accessible community-based residential substance abuse treatment, forward-thinking business and community

leaders from the City of Jackson and surrounding areas established in 1973 the Harbor Houses of Jackson, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.

Our treatment philosophy continues to focus on rehabilitating the mind, body and spirit. We believe that addiction is a treatable illness, that it can be overcome

by following a Twelve Step recovery program and that residents of our community have a right to have access to high quality treatment services, regardless of

their ability to pay. Since 1973, we have provided compassionate care to over ten thousand clients. Harbor House is certified by the State DepartmHarbor Houseent of Mental

Health to operate 77 residential treatment beds at two locations in Jackson, Mississippi. The State

also certifies us to provide Outreach and Aftercare programs

and a DUI Diagnostic Assessment Service.

In recognition of our growth and plans for future expansion, we will begin doing business as Harbor

House Chemical Dependency Services. This better reflects

our updated mission which is to offer a continuum of high quality, affordable and effective chemical

dependency treatment services and programs for adults and

their families, including those who cannot afford private treatment facilities. Our original logo has

been modernized to celebrate the start of a new era.

We are so very grateful for the generous support that we receive from the Mississippi Departments of

Mental Health and Rehabilitation Services, the City of

Jackson, Hinds County, private foundations and individuals. We are where we are today because of

years of widespread community support, the dedication and

commitment of the Board of Directors and the passion of our staff to offer high quality addiction

treatment services.
